Leah

Leah started practicing Bikram Yoga at the original studio in Kitsilano in January 2000. She became one of the regular crowd at the studio for the next 2 years. After graduating from SFU with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Leah worked for 3 years as a recruiter for a downtown agency. In the Spring of 2002 Leah decided to leave the corporate world behind and attend the teacher training in Los Angeles. When she returned Leah and her husband David opened the Bikram Yoga studio in Richmond. She feels so fortunate to be able to bring the amazing practice of Bikram Yoga to this community and loves watching students discover how powerful and life-changing this yoga is. Leah's greatest teachers are her 3 children, Ava, Jordan and Nicholas. These little yogis can often be seen at the studio and will be taking their spot on the mat in no time!

Teaching Style

Leah teaches a clean class that is encouraging and supportive. She believes that anyone can (and should) practice Bikram Yoga and that the yoga should be accessible to everyone regardless of their age or physical condition. She welcomes beginners and advanced practitioners alike.

Favorite Posture

Standing Bow Pulling Pose - such a beautiful posture to practice. I love how it requires so much mental focus and concentration and promotes balance and symmetry in the body.

Least Favorite Posture

Floor Bow - ugggh! This posture is my current nemesis. It is challenging for me due to tight shoulders, hips and cervical spine (might have something to do with carrying around 3 babies!)
